Your Absent Love Has an Echo
by Jessica K. Shannon
It's so crazy to me now.
I let you slip right through my fingers.
Never even giving you the chance you so deserved.
Because you loved me like no one has ever dared to love me.
Most of the time without hope or encouragement.
And now I'm silently willing you to come back.
Come back to me.
Just come back.
{this time i'll let you in.}
And how could that ever work,
When it was me that sent you away?
Still my aching, too late heart, yearns for yours.
You'd hold me so well,
So much better than anyone else has ever dared.

The middle is your strongest part. And, of course, you heap an emotional weight on my shoulders which I cannot bear. Well done; I've been missing it.
You ought to give it another go over, though. The beginning seems like conversation in poetry, not poetry of conversation.
Hi, Jess! It is so great to see your writing again. I was so anxious to see anything new. It is a really great poetry.
